2007 Commemorative Artist Biography - Ann Livingston
About the Artist: Ann Livingston became involved with art while living in Southern California many years ago. After moving to Oklahoma she attended Northern Oklahoma College where she studied Gene Daugherty. She has studied oil painting with George Kountoupis, Ray Vinella, John Encinias and the late Bill Harrison. Several years ago she discovered the love of the pure rich color of pastels, which has become her favored medium. She believes that portraits should never be done with anything but pastels. Ann has studied pastels with Dee Toscano and Leslie DeMille at the Scottsdale Ariozong Art School. She has also studied with Harley Brown, Mary Russell, Doug Dawson, and Ben Konis. She studies drawing annually at the Fredricksburg Art School in Fredricksburg, Texas with Sherri McGraw. Her work has been shown annually since 1977 at the Invitational Miniature Show at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ann has studied in Mexico, Greece, Ireland, France, and most recently Italy and has paintings on display in Kansas, Texas; Oklahoma; California and London, England. Awards received: People's Choice Award - Ben Johnson Memorial Art Show - Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Best of show A.O.C. - Bushyhead Art Show People's Purchase Award - International Pastel Show, Wichita, Kansas Peer's Choice Award - (while studying in Greece) Her work can been seen at the Livingston Gallery & Art School in Bristow, Oklahoma
